SHANGHAI (Dow Jones)--China's iron ore imports rose 29% on year in April to 42.85 million metric tons, the General Administration of Customs said Thursday.
In the January-April period, iron ore imports were at 153.49 million tons, up 15% on year.
China is one of the biggest importers of iron ore in the world, sourcing most of its supplies from Australia, Brazil and India.
The following are tables of import and export data for iron ore, pig iron, steel and stainless steel from Jan. 1 to April 30.
The chart below includes leading importing and exporting countries, origins of imports and destinations for exports. (All figures are in metric tons.)
